Top Five Wildlife Photography Tips

  • Find your subject
Do you homework to where and when you can see wildlife to photograph.
  • Get close to your subject
But remember not to scare your subject, wildlife is always more important than a photo!
  • Keep it steady
Don’t let camera shake ruin your shot. Rest the camera on a beanbag, wall or use a tripod.
  • Composition and framing
Think about why you’re taking your photo. Use the ‘Rule of Thirds’ and don’t be afraid to experiment
  • Light fantastic
The best light for photographs is early morning or evening, luckily this is often when wildlife is most active too!

Bonus tips if photographing through a window!

  • Clean the windows
  • Get the camera’s lens up close to the window
  • Turn off the flash
