To protect wildlife in Sussex we work at local, regional and national levels to help protect our environment.

On Tuesday 27th March 2012 the government released the new National Planning Policy Framework. This sets out the Government’s planning policies for England and how these are expected to be applied by Local Planning Authorities. The policies in the framework came into immediate effect on Tuesday which means that much of the national planning policy referred to on these pages has now been replaced. Please note that Acts of Parliament such as the NERC Act 2006 are not effected by the change.

We are working to update our planning guidance to reflect the new National Planning Policy Framework, however this may take some time. In the meantime you can read the full document here.
