INTRODUCTION TO FOREST SCHOOL LEVEL 1 TRAINING
This course is designed for individuals participating in a forest school programme, or those who wish to gain a basic understanding of the programme.

A forest school is an inspirational process that offers children, young people and adults of all abilities regular opportunities to gain confidence and raise self-worth through a series of hands-on learning experiences in school grounds and local woodlands.

Course requirements

Participants should be aged 16+ and be prepared to undergo a CRB check

Course outline

  • Introduction to Learning and Development at Forest School
  • Basic Forest School Practical Skills

Commitments

  • Two days of largely practical tasks (9:30 –16.30)
  • Subsequent participation in the delivery of two forest school sessions.
  • A short workbook which should be completed within 6 months of the course.

  • 10-11th March 2012 – Stanmer Park, Brighton.
  • 30-31st May 2012 in Guildford (Early Years focus)
  • 27-28th June 2012 at Beckley, East Sussex
  • 5th-6th September 2012, Chiddingfold, West Sussex

Maximum numbers, 14 on each course
Course costs: £200 per person, including course fees, training and assessment
