    The evening will start with an indoor introductory talk at Rusper Village Hall. You will then drive in your own cars to the wood nearby. Please wear suitable warm outdoor clothing and footwear for the weather conditions as you could be sitting down for 2½– 3 hours. Please bring binoculars if you have them. Please also bring a torch.     An Introduction to Dragonflies and Dameselflies

    Content: This course is aimed at anyone with little or no knowledge of dragonflies and damselflies but who would like to know more. The indoor session will cover basic biology, identification tips and the range of species found in the UK, particularly in Sussex. The afternoon session will be out on the reserve looking for dragonflies and damselflies and putting the identification tips into practice.

    Life Between the Tides : The Adur Estuary

    Venue: Adur Outdoor Activity Centre, Shoreham-by-Sea

    Content: This is an introduction to the intertidal estuary of the lower reaches of the River Adur. We will start in the classroom by looking at the estuary habitat as part of the surrounding area and discuss the importance of estuaries to both marine life and estuary birds. We will then explore the tide pools and the variety of marine life uncovered by the tide. We will observe wading birds and other birds that visit the estuary at low tide. The afternoon session will include the natural history and adaptations of marine invertebrates.

    Snails : Wildlife and Archaeology
