    The evening will start with an indoor introductory talk at Rusper Village Hall. You will then drive in your own cars to the wood nearby. Please wear suitable warm outdoor clothing and footwear for the weather conditions as you could be sitting down for 2½– 3 hours. Please bring binoculars if you have them. Please also bring a torch.     Grappling with Grasshoppers

    This one day course gives you the basics of how to identify grasshoppers and crickets by sight and sound. It will be of interest to the amateur naturalist, but also to conservationists who wish to know more about grasshoppers and crickets, either to help with guided walks, surveying or with management of sites.

    • An opportunity to identify their main sett
    • Full badger watch during the evening from an observation platform

    Wild about Wetlands

    Venue: Knepp Castle Estate, West Grinstead, West Sussex

    This course will look at the importance of wetlands for wildlife and the work going on to re-create this wonderful landscape in Sussex. The morning session will be in the The Bothy on the Knepp Estate and will look at the wildlife associated with wetlands and in particular the work done through the Sussex Wetlands Project. In the afternoon there will be a tour around the estate to see some of the work to introduce natural processes on the upper reaches of the River Adur.
