    An Introduction to Sussex Seals

    Venue: Adur Outdoor Activity Centre, Shoreham-by-Sea

    An introduction to Sussex seals, their biology, aquatic adaptations and natural history. The tutor has been studying the local seals since 1998 and will provide an insight into seal sightings along our coastline and occurrence in some Sussex rivers. This will include seal spotting tips, where they might be seen and follow some local strandings. Common seals are declining in the UK and we will look at some of the possible causes. We will also discuss an electronic seal tagging project that took place in Sussex during 2009 including an overview of the project and what we found.
