Meet in time for a 9.45 departure at the Onslow Arms in Loxwood (Explorer Map 134: TQ 042312). Please park in the overflow car park. Loxwood is on the B2133 (a right turn off the A272), about 4 miles northwest of Billingshurst. The pub is by the bridge over the Wey and Arun canal at the south end of the village.

In the morning our four mile walk will include a delightful section of the old Wey and Arun canal, currently undergoing restoration. We return to the Onslow Arms for lunch. The afternoon walk, of two and a half miles, will explore another section of the canal together with adjacent woodlands. Both walks are mainly flat and fairly easy, though parts may be muddy after rain. You are welcome to do only the morning or afternoon walks if you wish.

To help with the lunchtime catering, orders for lunch will be taken prior to starting the walk.

Look for our marine roadshow at Hotham Park Country Fair. Come and celebrate the wealth and diversity of our coastal waters at a Sussex Wildlife Trust Marine Roadshow. There’ll be fun, games and craft activities for children, food for thought for adults, examples and information about the plants and animals found on the shore, opportunities to get involved, and in some venues hands on rock pooling/beachcombing. Come rock pooling with us under the Seven Sisters and who knows you might catch a crab. If not there are lots of other fascinating creatures you can find living in the rock pools when the tide goes out.
