    Walk - Everyone Welcome

Meet in time for a 9.45 departure at the Swan Inn, Fittleworth (Explorer Map 121: TQ 009185). There is limited parking immediately outside the pub but plenty just off the left hand side of the B2138 going south, leaving Fittleworth.

The landlord has kindly agreed that we can use the toilet facilities at the Swan before our departure. He has also requested that we preorder food – ideally a week or two in advance: please contact me (Terry Wills: rtwills@btopenworld.com) if you plan to have lunch and I will forward the menu for the day as soon as it is available and subsequently convey our collective orders to the pub. Ordering food on the day, before we leave, will be possible but there is a risk that the menu will be more limited then.

The morning walk is an easy, flat one of around three and a half miles including a delightful stretch of the River Rother, Waltham Park and Hook Wood where we hope to see a good number of woodland birds.

We plan to return to the Swan around 12.30 and leave about 14.15 for the afternoon walk, another easy one of approximately two miles including the lovely Fittleworth and Hesworth’s Commons.

The itinerary is ideal should anyone wish to do just either the morning or the afternoon walk.

Walk led by Terry and Ro (Tel: 01798 813206 or 07720 891880 on the day)
