| Eastbourne Regional Group is a very friendly group run by volunteers with the aim of supporting Sussex Wildlife Trust in the local community. It offers members (and visitors) the opportunity to meet others in the area with an interest in natural history and the environment. We also run a full programme of events throughout the year. Monthly meetings in EastbourneWe hold illustrated talks by visiting speakers on many different aspects of natural history including birds, nature conservation, butterflies, plants and flowers. These meetings are held at 7.30pm on the third Thursday of every month (except June, July, August and December) at the Victoria Baptist Church, Eldon Road, Eastbourne, BN21 1UE, where there is a large free car park adjacent to the Church. The admission charge to our indoor meetings is £2.00 for SWT members and £3.00 for visitors/non SWT Members and we also make a small charge of 50p for refreshments which are served during an interval in the talk.
Guided local walksWe also arrange monthly local walks (except in December), usually between two and three hours duration to various places of interest, at different times of the year, this may include birds, wild flowers and plants, fungi, butterflies and trees. There is currently no charge for these walks which are open to both members and visitors/non members but we do ask for a voluntary donation for Sussex Wildlife Trust.
