Rain or Shine 2013

Following our successful photographic competition last year, we’re now looking for your beautiful wildlife photographs for our 2014 online calendar.

The theme of this year’s competition is Rain or Shine.

We are looking for 12 superb photographs capturing the effect of our ever-changing British weather on the wildlife and landscapes of Sussex, be it rain, sun, wind or snow.

What do I win?

The Ecology Consultancy
The First Prize is £150 cash kindly donated by The Ecology Consultancy. The Ecology Consultancy’s Lewes office is celebrating its sixth anniversary this year.

David Plummer Photography
The runner-up prize is a Wildlife Photography Day Course, kindly offered by David Plummer Photography. The winner of this prize will be able to choose from any of David Plummer’s wildlife photography courses, including Woodland Birds, Butterflies and Badger Watching, up to a value of £85.

The third prize is a selection of wildlife photography books, worth over £45.

The winning 12 photographs will also feature in an online calendar. In addition, the overall winning image will feature in Wildlife magazine, our monthly e-newsletter and on the Sussex Wildlife Trust’s website.

What are the rules?


  • You can enter up to three images
  • Images must be in landscape format only
  • For full rules please visit the Trust’s website for the competition’s terms and conditions

The final 12 images will be selected by judges and the overall winner will be selected by a public vote.
