Sussex Wildlife Trust (SWT) has written to all its members asking them to act now for nature and make their views count before the government publishes the Natural Environment White Paper.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has announced a consultation period on the White Paper due to be published next year. Until 30 October 2010 anyone interested in the future of the natural environment can take part in Defra’s online survey and help play their part in nature’s recovery.
Dr. Tony Whitbread, Chief Executive of SWT says, “If there’s one positive action you take for wildlife and conservation this decade – make it this. This White Paper could lay the foundation for nature conservation in the
21st century and by taking a moment to go online everyone can ensure they have their say.”
Defra is asking the public to answer four questions and has also produced a discussion document An invitation to shape the Nature of England.
