Visitors can experience life in one of the largest
reedbeds in Sussex first hand using a raised boardwalk which takes you into
the heart of this wonderful reserve.
What you can see Reed warbler, sedge warbler, lesser whitethroat, bearded tit, water
rail, teal, reed bunting, bladderwort, frogbit, a variety of amphibians,
wainscot and other specialist moths. Getting aroundFilsham Reedbed is located between Bexhill and Hastings. Access is via the footpath which runs alongside the Combe Haven river, from the Bulverhythe recreation ground just off the A259 in St. Leonards. After one kilometre there is a footbridge over the river. Please take care on the narrow riverside path connecting the car park to the reedbed, as it is uneven. On the reserve, a raised boardwalk leading to a viewing platform takes you into the centre of this reserve. Please keep to the paths. Fishing is not permitted. |
