Every day Sussex Wildlife Trust receives enquiries from members of the public concerned about development threats to local wildlife. The following information has been collated in order to help you take appropriate action.
Badly planned developments can have a significant impact on wildlife, while considerate planning can help protect, enhance and create valuable wildlife habitats. With development pressure increasing in Sussex, we are working to ensure wildlife and ecological networks are considered with due priority within the planning system.
The Sussex Wildlife Trust gives wildlife a voice by
- Responding to strategic planning consultations for
example the Local Development Framework, Local
Transport Plans, mineral and waste plans. We work to
ensure appropriate policies are in place for protecting
wildlife. - Commenting on large scale applications, where there is
potential for significant negative impacts on wildlife. - Offering advice to members of the public on how they
can engage in the process.click here
